On May 27th, Consul Ratchanee Wattanawisitport, Director of Thailand Board of Investment for Europe, accompanied by Stefan Schmitz, Director of the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) in Berlin visited Warsaw in order to present investment climate in Thailand and the services for foreign entrepreneurs offered by the Thailand Board of Investment. The delegation was received by Vice President of the Employers of Poland Janusz Pietkiewicz.
Consul stressed that Thailand is a country friendly to foreign investors – there are no additional burdens (eg. minimum requirements for export or local content requirements), and the exemption from tax can reach up to 8 years. Moreover, the Thai government has developed a comprehensive system of incentives for foreign investors and proposed multiannual programs to encourage investment in promising sectors of the economy of Thailand, promoting environmentally friendly solutions and encouraging activity in numerous clusters and special economic zones. Entrepreneurs from Thailand are interested in cooperation with Polish companies in the following sectors: automotive, household appliances, electronic equipment and machinery.
