Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.



Accountants’ Day at the National Stadium



On June 9th, on the occasion of Accountant’s Day, representatives of the most important accounting institutions met at the Conference Centre at the National Stadium met at the conference “A year after deregulation. Accounting market after the deregulation of the profession” to debate the future of the sector.


The debate, moderated by TVP Info journalist Piotr Chęciński, was focused on the report from countrywide research among accounting companies and SMEs. Participants included Franciszek Wala – Chairman of the Association of Polish Accountants, Robert Czuła – Chairman of Soneta sp. z.o.o, prof. dr hab. Zbigniew Luty – Director of the Institute of Accounting and Control at the Economic University in Wrocław, prof. dr hab. Jadwiga Glumińska-Pawlic – Chairwoman of the National Council of Tax Advisers and Mariusz Korzeb of the Tax Committee of Employers of Poland. The conference was opened by Dorota Podedworna-Tarnowska – undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Finance.  


– I think that a year is not enough to assess the real impact of changes of such magnitude. However, I am convinced that today’s conference is a great platform for the exchange of experiences with regards to the security and professionalism of both accounting and statutory auditor – said Viceminister.


Franciszek Wala is of the opinion that contrary to prior concerns, the changes did not harm the market. – I do not fear for the quality of the market. Neither the price of accounting services nor their quality dropped significantly – he says.


The conference was organized by the Księgowi Przyszłości portal with main partners: The Association of Polish Accountants and Soneta Sp. z o.o. The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy assumed honorary patronage over the event. Other patrons were: Employers of Poland, National Council of Tax Advisers and the Polish Economic Society. Partners were: Antal International, Agencja Art Group and the Institute of Socio-Economic Sciences, responsible for the research.
