July 2009 Andrzej Malinowski President of Employers of Poland and Waldemar Pawlak, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy paid an official visit to Egypt . The main aim of the visit was the participation in the closing ceremony of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2009. This competition is one of the greatest international competitions for students whose interests are connected with new computer technologies. Up to now more than 220 thousand of students from more than 100 countries took part in the competition. This year’s motto was: “Imagine the world in which technologies help people to deal with the problems.” The United Nations shaped some of the most difficult issues, which the world faces today in Millennium Development Goals. This edition aims at inspiring the participants throughout the whole world. In 2010 the final gala of the competition Imagine Cup will take place In Warsaw. Institute of Industrial Design organises the national edition under the patronage of
Minister of Economy. There will be a lot of benefits from the organisation of the World Final of the competition. Among them are the attraction of the representatives of the largest innovative firms to Poland, the emerging of new investment possibilities.
The delegates met the Egyptian business circles at business lunch as well as Sameh Fahmi, Egyptian Oil Minister, and Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt.
