The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development announced another competition for SMEs from Eastern Poland (Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Świętokrzyskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeships). Its aim is to improve the potential of companies from the macroregion with regards to industrial design in creating new products.
The projects will be financed within the 1.4 „Design for competition” action of the Eastern Poland Operational Program. The funds – 2 bln euro from the European Regional Development Fund – are assigned for the development of innovative enterprises and for investments in municipal infrastructure, roads and railways, important for the cohesion and accessibility of the macroregion.
This year’s competition pertains to the first stage of support. The maximum sum to b received is 100 000 PLN. It will be spent on a design audit, which will consist in experts diagnosing the company’s offer, technology, organizational structure, market trends and marketing strategy. The analyses will serve as a basis for elaborating a design strategy recommended for implementation at the second stage of support.
The total value of support is 5 mln PLN.
Applications are open from October 20th until December 30th. Importantly, in order to apply, companies first have to choose the auditor and sign a preliminary contract. Applications will be assessed by a panel of experts, which will consider not only the company’s capacity for industrial design, but the auditors’ competences as well. After the first stage of support, companies who will want to introduce on the market a new product or service resulting from industrial design processes may apply for as much as 3 mln in support in the next competition.
